01Introduction

This policy explains how Selffup Community Private Limited ("Selfup") handles personal data across the Selfup platform — courses, learning packages, membership, gigs, Arena, mentorship, Career AI, jobs and internship discovery, Selfup Camp, and business or hiring enquiries.

It applies to the Selfup website, logged-in student area, and forms that collect details from learners, companies, mentors, and applicants.

02Data we collect

• Account details — name, email, mobile number, login and verification records.
• Profile details — current status, goals, city, interests, language preference, and anything you add to your profile.
• Learning activity — courses accessed, progress, mock tests, mock interviews, and Career AI interactions.
• Proof and participation — gigs, submissions, Arena participation, Reward Points (RP) activity.
• Order and payment records — purchases, invoices, GST details, payment status and gateway references. Selfup does not store your full card or bank credentials.
• Lead and enquiry details — company hiring requirements, mentorship requests, Camp and Growth Fund applications, contact form messages.
• Communication preferences — marketing consent state and channel preferences.
• Technical and security data — device, browser, IP-derived data and security logs needed to keep accounts safe.

03Why we collect data

Each field is collected for a stated purpose: creating and securing your account, delivering purchased learning, processing payments, matching learners with opportunities, responding to enquiries, and meeting legal and accounting obligations.

We do not ask for personal data that is not needed for one of those purposes.

04How we use data

• Provide account access, courses, packages, and membership benefits.
• Process payments, invoices, refunds, and support requests.
• Operate gigs, Arena, mentorship, and opportunity discovery.
• Improve platform quality, reliability, and security.
• Send service messages related to your account, payments, security, and learning access.
• Send marketing communication only where you have given optional consent.

05Legal and service purposes

Some processing is required to provide the service or to meet legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution obligations. This processing continues even if you withdraw optional marketing or analytics consent.

06Marketing and optional consent

Marketing communication by email, SMS, WhatsApp, or phone is based on separate, optional consent. It is never pre-selected and never bundled with account creation or checkout.

You can withdraw it anytime from your privacy preferences or the communication preferences page. Withdrawing marketing consent does not affect your account, courses, or purchases.

07Cookies, analytics, and SDKs

Selfup uses cookies that are necessary for login, security, checkout, and service operation. Optional analytics or personalization, if introduced, requires separate opt-in consent. See the Cookie & Analytics Policy.

08Payments and payment gateway

Payments are processed by a third-party payment gateway. Card, UPI, and banking credentials are handled by the gateway under its own terms and security standards. Selfup receives transaction status, payment reference, and billing details needed for invoicing and support.

09Courses, gigs, Arena, mentorship, Career AI, and profile activity

Activity inside these features is linked to your account so progress, proof, RP, and history can be shown to you.

Where you choose to make proof, submissions, or profile details visible — for example to hiring partners or in Arena — that content can be seen by those recipients. Career AI guidance is generated from the inputs you provide and is guidance only.

10Company hiring and lead forms

Details submitted through Hire from Selfup and other business forms are used to respond to the requirement, set up a hiring panel, and share relevant candidate profiles where permitted. Business contact details are processed for that enquiry and for follow-up related to it.

11Growth Fund, Camp, and application forms

Applications to Selfup Camp, the Growth Fund, mentorship, and similar programs are used to assess eligibility and review the application. Support of any kind is subject to review and approval and is not guaranteed.

12Third-party vendors and processors

Selfup works with service providers for hosting, communication delivery, payment processing, and support tooling. They may process personal data only on Selfup instructions and for the purposes described here.

Selfup does not sell personal data.

13Data storage and security

Personal data is stored on access-controlled infrastructure with encryption in transit, role-based access, and logging of administrative access. No system is absolutely secure, so please keep your login credentials and OTPs private — Selfup will never ask for your password or OTP.

14Data retention

Account and learning records are retained while your account is active. Order, invoice, tax, and dispute records are retained for the period required by law even after account closure. Marketing suppression records are retained so an opt-out continues to be honoured.

15User rights and requests

You can access a summary of the personal data Selfup holds, correct supported profile fields, withdraw optional consent, and request deletion of your account and Selfup-controlled data.

Use Privacy & My Data inside your account, or the privacy request form if you cannot log in.

16Correction requests

Editable profile fields can be corrected directly from your account. For records that cannot be edited — such as order or verification records — submit a correction request describing what needs to change.

17Account deletion

You can request deletion from your account settings. Deletion may remove or anonymise your Selfup-controlled personal data, except records Selfup is legally required or permitted to retain. Deletion may end access to purchased courses, RP, proof, and activity history.

18Children and under-age users

Selfup does not knowingly create accounts for users below the applicable age of consent without a legally approved parental or guardian consent process. Signup includes an age confirmation step, and under-age applicants are directed to Selfup support instead of completing account creation.

19Grievance and privacy contact

Privacy requests, complaints, and grievances can be raised at any time.

20Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the version number and last-updated date on this page change with it. Material changes affecting optional consent will be accompanied by a fresh consent request.
